• Find the 3rd number by unlocking using key. • Allow the bar (metal U-loop) rest on the locking mechanism. • Twist the dial clockwise 3 times, then a fourth time, but extremely slowly – watch the bar lower; then it will pop up before the 3rd number. • Find the 1st number by turning the key in the lock; but keep pressure on it. • Twist the dial 3 times clockwise, and stop on “35”. • Raise the bar. • Attempt to lower the bar. If the bar cannot be reinserted without rotating the dial, or requires much more force than other numbers, this is the 1st number (+) or (-) 2.5 • Assign the following arbitrary values: • 1st number -> “y” • 3rd number -> “x” • Let “z” represent every 2.5th number Substitute the values found above for letters “x”, “y” and “z” in the formulas below. One of the formulas should work.
