How Do You Disable Startup Programs In Windows XP?
Disabling startup programs on your Microsoft Windows XP computer will improve start-up times and overall computer efficiency. Some of these programs that run every time your computer is started will take a lot of computing power and resources. Disabling these programs may make your computer faster and more responsive. Open the Start Menu by clicking “Start” in the lower left corner of your screen. Click “Run” (near the bottom of the Start Menu). Type “msconfig” in the “Run” box and press enter on your keyboard or click OK. Click on the “Startup” tab. Check the “disable all” box. Restart your computer. Don’t worry about disabling startup programs. Most of them are programs that you won’t ever use but were bundled with your computer or other pieces of hardware. If it is a program you use often, it will usually reappear as a startup program the next time you use it.
