The full locust yoga pose is a very advanced pose. While it is a great posture to help strengthen the back and tone the buttocks it can be too challenging for many and can actually make your back pain worse. The yoga half locust pose is a gentler variation of this posture that can help you to get many of the same benefits without straining to get into the posture. When done slowly and with awareness this posture can strengthen the muscles of the low back and help you to manage back tightness and pain. Lie on your stomach on the floor.
