How Do You Do A Slap Shot In Hockey?

In hockey a very effective shot is the slapshot. This may look easy but it is hard if you don’t know the correct form. First you have to determine if you shoot left handed or right handed. You do this by deciding which feels more natural. Then if you shoot right handed put your left hand near the top of the stick and your right hand a little bit past the middle of the stick. Next spread your feet so they are a shoulder width apart and put the puck about a foot away from the middle of your stance. Then once everything is set up you move the stick back like a golf swing, but with a different grip. Then swing the stick down so the blade of the stick hits about an inch behind the puck and follow through. Once you get more advanced in this motion, the set up won’t matter as much or take as long.
