The Tae Kwon do hook kick is, however, one of the more difficult kicks to get down. Just like anything else; it will need practice. Begin in fighting/guarding stance with your left foot forward. As with most Tae Kwon Do kicks, you will need to use the power from your back and hips, as well as from the snapping effect you’ll be giving the kick. Knee up. The hook kick comes off of your back leg. First, bring your right knee up. Your knee needs to be pointing towards your left, or the outside, right side of your opponent’s position. Kick out.
