The advanced waltz time step in tap dancing is done to ¾ time. It’s very similar to the single waltz time step, but there are two heel drops added. Put your tap shoes on and let’s dance. Memorize the count to the advanced waltz time step, which is “and 1 and 2 and a 3.” Learn the steps in order, which include brush step, shuffle step, drop heel, drop heel. Put the steps and count together. Brush step forward on your right foot to the count of “and 1.” Shuffle your left foot to the count of “and 2.” Step down on your left foot on the count of “and.” Drop your left heel on the count of “a.” Drop your right heel on the count of “3.” Repeat starting on your left foot.
