The Mach 5 trick is one of those yo-yo tricks that plays off the split mount, which is a basic move that sets you up for many other, more complex tricks. The fun thing about this trick is the seeming illusion that the yo-yo spins in the middle of space between the strings. Start with a strong downward thrust to get the yo-yo in a good sleeper position. The better and more substantial this first move, the more solid each successive move will be. Use the index finger of your non-throwing hand, with forward pressure on the center of the string, to bring the yo-yo up to a point just under the index finger of your throwing hand.
