Anyone can create a drawing. Using a picture to trace the outlines of the drawing can help until skills are developed. Make a photocopy of a picture you want to draw. The photocopy should be the same size as the drawing you will be creating. Place a piece of white paper on top of the photocopy. Using painter’s tape, tape the paper and photocopy on a window or light box. Trace the outlines of the photocopy with pencil. You will notice different tones of black, gray and white throughout the photocopy. Assign a number from 1 to 10 for the different areas. 1 should be white and 10 black. A very light gray area will be assigned number 2. The next shade darker will be number 3. Continue to assign numbers to all areas, as they get darker until you get to black, number 10.
