Most children learn to draw “stick people” before they learn to more accurately represent the human body. Stick people are easy to draw in any position, and doing any activity, because their physical details are so minimalistic and they do not need to be accurately proportioned. To draw a stick person participating in a sport, draw the stick person, then draw the ball-it’s that easy. Draw a circle one inch in diameter. This is the head. Draw a stick poking from the bottom of the circle. This is the body. Draw a 2-inch vertical line at the bottom of the circle, protruding from the bottom of the circle.
