Some people see coffee roasting as an art because, if done incorrectly, the beans’ flavor is ruined. Well-roasted coffee, however, has a rich, full-bodied flavor that coffee aficionados can enjoy. Some prefer to purchase ground coffee because it requires less work and still has a good flavor. Others like to have more control over their coffee, going so far as to roast it themselves. Many methods exist for roasting coffee but one of the easiest is called drum roasting. It involves heating a hollow metal drum filled with coffee beans. The drum rotates horizontally to heat and roast the beans evenly. Pour as many raw coffee beans as you want to make coffee into the roaster drum.
