How Do You Easily Remove Wallpaper Glue?
Wall preparation is one of the most important steps in giving a room a new treatment. If the walls were previously covered with wallpaper, the glue left behind needs to be completely removed, especially if you’re planning to paint the walls. Any wallpaper glue underneath the new paint will cause flaking later. Cleaning the walls may be tedious work, but the time put in will result in a more durable, attractive finish. Lay drop cloths to protect your floors and furniture. Cover any electrical outlets with painter’s tape and plastic to keep moisture out. Fill a bucket with hot water and add a solvent. This can be a couple of spoonfuls of liquid dishwashing detergent, a cup of white vinegar or a commercial wallpaper glue solvent. Fill a spray bottle with the mixture.
