How Do You Eliminate Gasoline Odor In Carpet?

0

Gasoline is a very hard smell to get rid of but if you have a little patience try a few of these tricks. The first thing to try is saturating the area with white vinegar and using a steam cleaner/extractor or a shop vac to soak up the vinegar once it has sat on the spot for about 5 minutes. Once the spot has dried try covering the smell spot with baking soda and let it sit overnight. Vacuum it up after about 10-12 hours. Another thing to try is saturating the area with isopropyl alcohol and using the same technique as above to soak up the alcohol and follow up with baking soda. The final suggestion is to place fresh unused coffee grounds directly on the odor spot and let them sit for as long as you can before vacuuming up. You may need to repeat this step a few times.
