Cover the primer with PVC glue. Slide the reduction coupler onto the glue-covered end of the pipe, and allow it to cure for 15 minutes. Wipe primer around one edge of the 1 1/2-inch PVC pipe. Immediately apply glue to the primer-covered edge, and slide the pipe into the small opening of the reducer. Allow the glue to dry for 15 minutes.
