In a democracy, voting is a right and a responsibility. It can also be a hassle and a frustrating experience. What do you do when you want to encourage someone to vote in an election? Even though it should be obvious that we have a vested interest in making our opinions count and that our participation in the important issues of the day will help shape the nation we live in tomorrow, there are day-to-day problems that can keep the most dedicated of us from voting. Make sure potential voters get registered before the deadline. Voter registration is mandatory before an election, so make sure to start your own campaign to get people registered. Although this isn’t necessary if someone has been voting consistently, anyone who didn’t vote in the last major election, and people who have never voted (but are citizens), will have to register with the state. There are a number of online sites where U. S. citizens can register, and during major campaigns, voter drives are common at malls, grocer
