How Do You Establish A New Bedtime Routine?
Establishing a new bedtime routine for your child doesn’t have to be a hair-raising experience. These easy to follow steps will help to guide you through this transition with ease. Determine the new bedtime. Explain this to your child. Give them the reason, whether it is because of a new schedule or just because you feel they need more sleep. Remind the child of the new bedtime about a half hour and then 15 minutes before you start the routine. A new routine might include jammies, brushing teeth and a story. This should be started with enough time to have the child ready to sleep by the newly established bedtime. Make sure that your child has had a drink of water and gone to the bathroom. This will help to eliminate any excuses they may have at bedtime.
