Getting hang time on a dirt bike is a rush unlike all others. Hitting a ramp and flying for a split second is something most people wish they could do. Gaining hang time on your dirt bike is a matter of mind over matter and strength. By changing a few things on your biking routine, you can be hanging like the best of them. Build up as much speed as possible before hitting the jump. Getting air time can be as simple as gravity if you think about it. The more momentum you have built up before the ramp, the more force your body will have to fight gravity from pulling you down again. Pull back on your handlebars just as your front wheel hits the top of the ramp. Many new riders pull up too soon or too late which will lower your hang time. Do your motions for jumping right at the last second in order to fully use the speed and momentum your body has built up. Distribute your weight evenly throughout the bike while jumping.
