How Do You Feed Wire Into An Electrical Conduit?

0

The process of running wire through conduit is referred to as “snaking” or “fishing” the wire through the conduit. The best tool for this process is called a “fish tape.” If the length of the conduit that the wire needs to be pulled through is a shorter run, you could use a regular wire to reach instead. It is best to have an assistant to help with this project–one person to feed the wire and another to pull the cable through. Ensure that all the conduits are free from obstructions or any construction material that would block or hinder the wire from feeding through the conduit lines. Turn off the main circuit breaker at the power panel. Run the fish tape though the conduit at the circuit panel back to the last outlet that will be wired. Generally, it is best to start pulling the wire from the last outlet and work your way back to the electrical panel. Pull the fish tape, now protruding out the conduit where the last outlet will be wired and installed, out about 12 inches to work with
