How Do You Fill In An Unwanted In Ground Pool?

• Drain the pool, preferably when the ground is dry and least likely to allow the pool to float out of the ground. If the water contains chlorine or other harmful chemicals be sure to not drain into storm drains or other unacceptable places. • Use a jackhammer, sledgehammer, or other tool to smash holes into the bottom of the pool to allow water to drain out of it over the future years that it will be sitting in the ground. • Remove any top deckingcement walkways, coping tiles and any other cement around the pool that you want removed and toss it into the pool over the holes you have made. Cover the old cement with a layer of crushed rock and then cover this with a layer of sand or just fill up the rest of the way with dirt, if possible tamp it down as you go and you will have less settling over time, be sure to have the last foot of dirt be quality topsoil if you want to have good luck with planting.
