You will need a multimeter to test some parts of the dryer if the first and easy test doesn’t work. The most common cause of a dryer not heating is that the air duct gets clogged. This can cause a fire and should be cleaned out about once every couple of months. Take the air duct off from behind the dryer with a screwdriver and take the other end off near where it goes into the wall. Run a hose through the air duct until all the junk and lint from inside gets out. Let it sit in the sun for about an hour to dry then hook it back up. Try the dryer out to see if it heats again. The dryer’s thermostat can also be the cause of it not heating. Locate your dryer’s thermostat and take it out with a screwdriver. Take your multimeter and set it to the resistance setting.
