How Do You Fix A Trickling Bathroom Sink Faucet?
One of the most common household repairs is the ubiquitous leaky faucet. Not only is the constant dripping an annoyance, it can also cost quite a bit of money over time if not dealt with properly. Most of the time a faucet trickles, or leaks, due to a wearing down of the internal washers and caps but they are fairly inexpensive and simple to replace. Look under the sink to locate the shutoff valves. There should be one for hot and one for cold. Turn each shutoff valve counterclockwise to turn off water supply to the sink. Locate the plastic cap on the top of the handle; on many bathroom faucets this is simply a small disk in the center of the handle. Use a flathead screwdriver to pry off the cap, exposing the set screw. Remove this screw and pull the handle straight up and off. If there is no set screw, continue to Step 3 and remove the entire stem. Loosen and remove the stem nut with a wrench. The nut secures the stem to the sink. Pull the faucet stem up and out.
