Rather than spending your hard-earned money to replace an entire set, it is simple to bend a slat back into place. Straightening Curved Aluminum Blind Slats Step 1 Put on a lightweight pair of gloves to prevent skin cuts. Step 2 Slide a four-foot section of 3/4 inch dowel rod between the blind adjustment strings on one side of the blind, just below the bent slat, and slowly push the end through the adjustment strings on the other side of the blinds. Step 3 Pull the dowel rod firmly against the underside of the bend slat and press firmly on top of the area where the bend or crease exists.
