How Do You Fix Drywall Dents With Texture?

0

Whether your drywall has dents from children, furniture or renters, one thing is certain: Dents need to be fixed before they become cracks. Fixing drywall dents is straightforward and easy for most do-it-yourself homeowners. Smooth the edges of the dented areas with sandpaper. Lightly feather the edges into the rest of the wall. Cover the dented areas with joint compound and smooth the surface with a putty knife. Wipe off any excess with the edge of the putty knife. Allow the joint compound to dry thoroughly. Apply a second coat and a third coat just as you did the first. Allow each additional layer to dry thoroughly. Sand the area smooth again, then mix a bit of the joint compound with a few ounces of water. Apply the mixture to the newly refinished area with the roller and allow it to dry. Paint the refinished area and allow it to dry.
