How Do You Fix Hardwood Floor Scratches Using Mayonnaise?
Seeing scratches on your hardwood floors can be a bummer. There are all sorts of tips out there that deal with this including the use of various commercial products. Well, there is a very simple and inexpensive solution… First, clean the damaged surface so that you remove all dust and dirt from the area. Use water or some other cleaning solution and dry the surface. Then using a paper napkin, dab a generous amount of Mayonnaise (that’s right…Mayo!) onto the scratch. Use enough Mayo so that it completely fills in the crevices of the scratches. In other words, you should not be able to see the scratches with the white Mayo covering them. After waiting approximately 3-4 minutes, wipe away the Mayo with a napkin or towel. The Mayo will leave a greasy film in the crevice(s). This film will generally take on the color of the surrounding hardwood floor material, thus hiding the scratch.
