Getting a scuff on your nice leather shoes can be embarrassing and frustrating. Luckily, it’s fairly simple to treat and you can fix them within a day. Clean the affected area of the shoe. If you scuffed your shoe in a dirty location, you need to ensure that all the dirt is cleaned away so it won’t stain your shoe when you fix the scuffs. Use a leather shoe cleaner and a cloth without dyes to do this and allow the shoes to dry completely before moving on to the next step. Cover the entire shoe except for the scuffed area you want to fix. Use masking tape to tape down an old newspaper or magazine over the rest of the shoe to protect it. Spray the scuffed area of the shoe lightly and evenly with a leather refinishing spray that matches the color of your shoes. Move the can back and forth across the shoe while spraying and allow the spray to dry. Repeat this step until the color of the spray and the scuff is even with the color of the rest of the shoe.
