How Do You Fix Warped Laminate Flooring?
Laminate flooring today is usually installed as a “floating” floor system.The tongue-and-groove boards aren’t attached to the subfloor or the wall, but are just sitting locked together and pinned down by the floor trim. This makes for easy installation, but it also allows the boards to warp and move more easily if they’re damaged by moisture. Replacing those warped boards is a fairly simple matter of pulling apart the floor until you get to the damaged area, replacing the warped boards, the re-assembling the floor. Step 1 Remove the floor trim on three sides of the room, leaving trim only on the wall that’s furthest from the warped boards and running parallel to them. (So the trim should be removed from the parallel wall closest to the warped boards, and both walls that are perpendicular to the direction the floorboards).
