Next, secure the hook-end of the chalk box to the nail and stretch it across the room to the desired end of the wall and pop a line for the new wall. Measure and cut enough studs to make the bottom plate of the wall. Do the same for the top of the wall, but keep in mind the top plate is two rows of lumber.
