If something goes wrong, then the OBD system generates an error code and will activate the check engine light on the dash. The check engine light code can be captured and decoded by a special tool, called an on-board diagnostic code checking computer. This device plugs into the fuse panel in your Civic and obtains the code. Remove the fuse panel cover in your civic.
