How Do You Get A Newspaper Editor Job?
A newspaper editor is the person in charge of choosing the content of the publication. In most cases, this means assigning the articles directly to reporters, but it can also mean going over freelance submissions and choosing topics that will make a good feature story for the inside pages of the newspaper. In large newspapers, there may be more than one editor, each assigned to a specific section, such as sports, local news, and the arts. Start early. If you are interested in a career in editing, you may want to start in high school by taking related classes such as writing, English, and statistics. Many schools also have their own newspaper, in which case it would make a lot of sense to join the staff in order to learn the basics of writing and publishing.
