Understand that you must be at least 21 to apply for a gun permit. You must prove that you are a U.S. citizen and that you are a resident of Arizona. Sign up for the 8-hour class that you’ll need before getting a permit. Get a recommendation from a gun shop about where to take the class. The class must be taught by a Concealed Weapon Permit Unit (CWPU) registered instructor. Complete the course and get your permit registration forms and fingerprint cards. Get fingerprints taken for the state fingerprint card. Send a certified check or money order, your fingerprint card, proof of age, proof of residency and the application to the CWPU.
