Games designed specifically for Windows 98 may not run properly on Windows XP. The most common types of problems that you may encounter while playing such games on Windows XP are distorted images and/or no sounds. You can overcome this problem by running that game in compatibility mode, wherein the game is run in an environment similar to that of Windows 98. Right-click on the game icon (.exe) that you want to play on Windows XP and then click on “Properties.” Click on the “Compatibility” tab in the properties dialog box. Click to select “Run this program in compatibility mode for” check box and then select “Windows 98/Windows Me” from the drop-down box below.
