How Do You Get Chocolate Stains Off Suede Leather?
Suede is a strong and durable fabric, but there are some rules to cleaning it, particularly if the stain is something challenging, like chocolate. Don’t panic, and follow these steps for easy removal of chocolate stains. If the chocolate has dried, gently scrape excess chocolate from the surface of the suede using the BACK side of a butter knife. If the stain is chocolate sauce, gently dab up as much as possible without spreading the stain or working it further into the surface. Mix a solution of one or two drops of dish soap with a small amount of water. Stir the soap and water rapidly, or shake in a glass jar to create a large amount of suds. Apply ONLY the sudsy foam to the suede using a sponge. Dab foam into the stained area of the suede. Wipe dry with a clean terry cloth towel. Repeat if necessary. If the stain remains, gently dust the area with cornmeal. Wait 5 to 10 minutes, allowing the cornmeal to absorb the stain. Brush off the cornmeal.
