How do you get Christmas gift donations for a non profit organization?
First of all, I would give a NAME to what you’re doing. Is it a fundraiser? A drive? It will be easier to promote with a catchy name and more description about what you’re trying to accomplish. Let people know how their donations will be used, the kind of people that would be receiving the gifts, etc… When people donate, they want to know how it will be used and who they’ll be helping – Go to local jr highs and high schools and talk with staff. There are many organizations (ex. National Honor Society) that will volunteer and/or help to promote fundraisers with students and the community – Recruit help from local college students!! College students are VERY good about being active in the community, volunteering, etc… Take advantage of that! Post flyers on college campuses. I’m sure you’d not only get volunteers, but also, the college students may try to get donations from other students on their own campus.
