There is glue on your hardwood floor. How do you get rid of it? Here’s how. Get a bucket of warm water and apply it to the floor. Use a paint scraper and try to scrape it up, being careful not to scar your floor. Use mineral spirits, acetone or paint thinner to loosen the glue, if it is in a small area. Wear gloves, have the windows open for ventilation and take a rag and wipe some of the mineral spirits, acetone or paint thinner onto the glue. This should soften it so that you can scrape it off. Use old sandpaper on a dry floor, using a coarse grade, and sand with the grain of the wood. Again, you will have to get close to the glue.
