How Do You Get Into West Point?
• Meet eligibility requirements to apply for admission. • You must be between the ages of 17 and 23 and unmarried. You can’t have a legal obligation to pay child support or be pregnant. Also, you must be a U.S. citizen unless you meet the requirements for an international admission exception. • Prepare for admission to West Point during your sophomore year of high school. • Take college-preparatory classes. • Join sports teams such as a football or soccer or an individual sport like mixed martial arts (MMA). Partaking in sports helps build physical strength needed to pass the Candidate Fitness Assessment (CFA) portion of the admissions process. • Participate in organizations or clubs at your school and community. Joining different clubs and organizations builds leadership skills required at West Point. • Build on the preparation started in your sophomore year. • Begin the application process to enter West Point during your junior year in high school. • Complete the West Point Candidate
