How Do You Get Rid Of A Mold Smell On Fabric?

Wet clothes left in a washing machine overnight may smell moldy the next day. Running those clothes in the washing machine as you normally would may not remove the smell from the fabric. A mold smell may also be found on a piece of furniture that was left outside in the rain. Distilled white vinegar is a household product that can help eliminate the smell of mold on fabrics. Place the laundry into your washing machine. Pour 2 to 3 cups of white distilled vinegar into the machine, and wash the laundry with hot water. Allow the entire cycle to complete. Add your normal laundry detergent (and liquid fabric softener if you regularly use it) and run the washing machine again on the normal cycle. Dry the clothes as you always do.
