They sell this stuff called “ocean water” which is basically saline water. You can spray it up your baby’s nose to help wash out his nasal passages and/or moisten them up. This is especially good for cleaning the nose and getting the allergens cleaned out. This stuff works well for colds, too. I use it on my daughter to help get the mucus out of her nose because it moistens it and makes it easier to suck out. (I have allergies and sinus problems, and use the adult version of this stuff) You should be able to buy it at any pharmacy, or discount store. Oh, just thought of something. They sell a “wedge” that is an inclined pillow that helps the baby’s mucus drain while they are sleeping. I use ours when Amber is stuffed up. It should be sold with other baby stuff. I got mine at a garage sale.

There’s not much you can do. Use the blub to keep their nasal passages clear as much as possible as often as possible. When they start coughing put them on their stomachs and see if you can use the end of your finger to get it out of their mouths before they swallow it back down. Try to prop them upright (like in their infant seat) when they sleep and keep a humidifier on at night where they sleep if it’s a dry house/room. We’ve gone thru the same thing with our 6 month old for months now. He finally got well only to catch another cold about a week later. It really is a matter of patience and waiting the cold/infection out trying to keep them as comfortable as possible.
