How Do You Get Rid Of Yellowjacket Nest?
If you’ve found a yellowjacket nest, you have probably already been stung. Even if you haven’t been stung yet, you want to get rid of the nest before a child, a pet, or even you gets stung. There are many safe and legal ways to get rid of the nests without getting stung. Locate the nest. It is most likely in the ground. Look for a small hole, maybe an inch or two in diameter. During the day it will be fairly busy with yellowjackets, so just keep your eyes peeled. Mark the nest location with something that you can easily see at night. I personally use marking paint, or a large rock placed near the nest. DO NOT mark the nest directly, place the mark a few feet away, so as to not disturb the yellowjackets. If you are allergic to bee stings find someone who isn’t. I’ve never been stung doing this, but why risk it. At night, grab a can of the fogging wasp/hornet killer, or tracking compound like Sevin.
