It may seem impossible, but you can successfully remove Silly Putty from a couch by following the proper steps. The right tools and products, combined with a bit of patience and elbow grease, will leave your couch cushions looking unscathed. Use a dull knife to scrape as much of the putty from the couch cushions as possible. Wipe the knife frequently with a dry rag to prevent the putty from spreading. Work slowly and gently while scraping. Spray the Silly Putty stain with WD-40 or a similar oil lubricant. Spray only a thin layer of the spray onto the cushions to cover the stain.
