How Do You Grout Floor & Wall Tile?
You may think that if you are going to have tile on your floor or walls that you’ll have to hire a professional to do it for you. That isn’t necessarily so! Yes, grouting is time consuming and can feel labor-intensive, but it’s really not that hard. Follow these steps for a professional looking grout job. Begin by making sure all the joints are clean of debris. You can use a stiff broom to brush debris out of the joints. You an also use a wet/dry vac with an attachment to clean the joints. Fill your 1 gallon bucket with as much grout powder as you can spread in about 30 minutes. Start with about 2 in. of powder. Slowly add water and mix until the consistency of about that of pancake batter or slightly thicker. Allow to sit for about 5 minutes. Put a small amount of grout on your trowel and apply directly to the joint with the trowel, working at a 45 degree angle. Work the grout into the joint. When this is done, clean up excess grout on your tile with your trowel. Continue to work acro
