How Do You Hang A Vapor Barrier?

Vapor barriers are one the best ways to protect your home from unwanted moisture. Installed on either the exterior of the home during construction or on the walls of a basement, the added protection will go a long way in protecting your investment. Moisture, if allowed to accumulate, can cause rotting, mildew, and/or mold to grow. Ultimately, this can cause a huge health risk to your family. A sheet-over vapor barrier is designed to seal the wall from top to bottom to prevent any moisture inside or outside from getting into the interior part of the walls. Knowing how to hang a vapor barrier is the first step to keeping that moisture out. Repair any damage to the wall and caulk around any windows or doors to seal the area before application of the vapor barrier.
