How Do You Hook Up Home Theater Speakers?
In today’s movies and even music, surround sound is becoming more of a standard. Of course, you’ll never get surround sound until you learn how to hook up home theater speakers. Hooking up surround sound speakers requires a few considerations and measurements, but is not difficult to do. Determine where you want your speakers set up based upon the size and shape of your room and the space available. Also consider specific instructions for your speakers. A basic set-up would place your chair or couch in the center of the room with two front speakers on either side of the television, two rear speakers several feet behind the couch, even with the front speakers, and a center channel speaker on top or under the television. For a seven-channel system, the additional two speakers would go on either side of the couch pointed directly at the listener.
