OK, the VCR/DVD combo will probably not have a hi-def output. So in this case you can do one of several things: You can run the RF output from the recorder to the RF input on the TV. You could use a video and audio cable (L, R channel) to attach the recorder to one of the regular AV Inputs. If the recorder has an S-Video output, use that on the TV side, or if it has an R-G-B (Red Green Blue) three cable output you can use that on the TV… Note that since the video source is not HD, the picture will look crappy. That’s the only way to put it. Basically, just FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS that came with the TV.
