How Do You Identify A Bush With No Flowers & Seeds?
Identifying a bush or shrub without an inflorescence or any seed structures can be challenging, as there are hundreds of thousands of plant species and cultivars. However, by carefully inspecting the bush and its leaves, you can narrow the possibilities by creating a detailed botanical description. Then consult plant reference websites or books. For most plants there is a range of climates–the hardiness zone–where they thrive or where they won’t grow. Consult the United States National Arboretum’s hardiness zone map (see Resources) and determine the zone number for your area.
