How do you identify a pathological liar?
I don’t know for sure, but I do know someone who, when asked a yes or no question, will NEVER simply yes or no. That way they cannot be held accountable for the truth at a later time. They will use words like “probably” or “kinda” or “maybe”. “I don’t know” is a common response, too. This way, when you want to discuss what was said at a later time, they will be able to tell you, “That’s NOT what I said.” And they can say, “YOU don’t know what you’re talking about. Am I on the right track? This is the liar that has been confronted many times about what they have said, so they will rarely out and out “LIE”. But they don’t tell the truth, either.
