Learning to identify an organization’s core values is critical to the success of any business. Ideally, all difficult decisions are a reflection of what your organization values. How you prioritize your values defines who you are as an organization, defines what you are attempting to achieve and describes the means to carry out your goals. Identify your organization’s values by brainstorming. Utilize input from all levels of your organization. This gives everyone representation in formulating your organization’s values. Look for common traits and repetitive ideas from the brainstorming sessions. Find ideas that are repeated throughout all levels of the organization’s structural hierarchy.
