The Ford Excursion ride quality can be only slightly improved. The Excursion is a truck–a large truck. Ford did a few things it the factory to soften the ride quality, and there are a few additional steps the consumer can take. But for the most part, the ride is what it is. Check your tire pressure. Make sure the tire pressure is accurate to vehicle manufacturer’s specifications, not the tire. Change your tire size. By increasing the round diameter of the tire to the next size up you can smooth the ride. In most cases, the Ford Excursion came with 265/75/16 size tires. By increasing the “265” to the next size up–a “285”–the larger tire will mean a smoother ride. It will also mean a slightly taller ride height.
