How Do You Install 2G Turbo Timer?
The Eagle Talon 2G is the second generation Talon; it was produced from 1995 to 1998. The turbocharged variants of the model benefit greatly from the installation of a turbo timer, which is a device that keeps the engine running for a short period after the ignition has been shut off. This allows the turbo to cool down properly by allowing the oil to continue to circulate, reducing wear on the turbo as well as the possibility of turbo failure. This article covers the installation of an HKS timer, but other installations will be basically the same. Remove the three screws that fasten the steering column trim located on the lower side of the covers. Remove the cover. Disconnect the blue ignition plug. Plug in the wiring harness that came with the timer to the plug ends that were disconnected. Mount the turbo timer in a location of your choosing using the supplied Velcro or double sided tape.
