A broadband modem is a hardware device used for routing broadband Internet access on a desktop computer or laptop. Installing a broadband modem is divided into two steps–connecting the modem and configuring it for broadband internet access. Here’s how to install a broadband modem. Ensure that you have all necessary equipment to connect the broadband modem. This includes the modem itself, CD ROM and manual, Ethernet cable, telephone cord (if you have an ADSL modem) and power adapter. Contact the retailer or manufacturer of the broadband modem if any of the above equipment is missing. Read the user manual to understand the function of each piece of equipment in the package.
