Installing an alarm system in a Geo Metro protects the car and often gives the owner a break on insurance costs. The Geo Metro installation is easier than many installs, but requires considerable flexibility to get under the dash. With no power door locks and a small internal size, anyone with an understanding of car electrical systems can do this project in about an hour. Read the alarm’s manual carefully and identify each part in the alarm kit. Open the hood and disconnect the positive battery cable. Connect the alarms power cable to the positive cable and run the wire along the body and firewall to the driver’s side of the car. Mount the alarm siren to the firewall, pointed towards the engine to limit water contact when driving.
