How Do You Install A Drain In A Marble Sink?
Installing a sink drain in a marble sink is no different than installing one in any other sink with one exception. Use care when tightening the top flange into place to prevent scratching of the glossy surface inside the bowl. Some drain kits will come with plastic or PVC washers instead of rubber and cardboard. Remove the drain kit from the package and lay the parts out on the floor. Locate each part and separate them so that they are easily recognizable. Locate the top flange. Roll some of the plumber’s putty into a small rope long enough to reach around the circumference of the flange ring and press into place. Insert the top flange into the sink. Locate the washer and nut that screws onto the top flange from under the sink and tighten the nut with your hand. Insert the pop-up stopper into the drain and locate the parts that operate the pop-up; the pivot seat and gasket, the horizontal rod and the nut that holds it all in place.
